Plugins for Home Recording Artists and Producers

The plugins bundled with DAWs continue to improve, but they’re only add-ons—not the main attraction. At Waves, we’re passionate about plugins—and Silver’s 16 plugins deliver the pro-level sound quality demanded by Grammy-winning producers and mix engineers around the world.

Upgrade your setup with these essential processors, and you’ll upgrade your productions and mixes. Silver is the key to delivering more power, creative options, finish, and punch.

C1 Compressor

The classic C1 combines a musically pleasing dynamics sound with rich features and functionality: Compression, expansion, upward expansion, gating, dynamic filtering, sidechaining, and internal sidechain filtering—all in one plugin.

C1 isn’t about ‘color’—it’s about solving problems. The clean, neutral sound complements any sound, because its sole goal is to deliver every type of dynamics processing any project needs.

DeEsser

Inspired by the vintage gear used for precision de-essing and high-frequency limiting, DeEsser tames “ess” and “shh” sounds. As recordings boost high frequencies for greater intelligibility with narration, audiobooks, vocals, and podcasts, de-essing is now more important than ever.

However, de-essing isn’t only about voice. DeEsser’s gentle de-essing action can reduce amp sim harshness, tame cymbals in drum loops, sweeten the sound of digital synthesizers, and more.

Doubler

Thicken voices, spread mono instruments, suffuse space in mixes, beautify background vocals, augment acoustic guitar parts, do stunning sound design—then go even further.

The secret to Doubler’s sound is that it can reinforce doubling with another layer of doubling. With 4 voices, up to 100 ms of delay, and modulation, Doubler is a classic vocal doubling solution.

Enigma

Enigma combines comb filtering, modulation, filtered feedback, a reverb-like processor, and time delay to weave enigmatic sonic webs around anything—voice, synth, white noise, found sounds, guitars, you name it. And, automating the interactive controls creates ever-evolving textures.

The range of effects is dizzying: novel flanging, ever-rising “barber-pole” effects, resonant reverbs, bell and wind chime sounds, alien voices, dub echoes… there is absolutely nothing like Enigma.

IR-L Convolution Reverb

For hyper-realistic acoustic spaces, nothing beats convolution reverb—it’s like the difference between a photograph of a concert hall, and a painting of a concert hall. However, unlike traditional reverbs, convolution reverbs can have a daunting collection of parameters and options.

IR-L cuts through the complexity. Featuring the acclaimed sound quality of Waves’ IR1 audio engine, you can bring over 2,000+ acoustic spaces into your studio—from stairwells to cathedrals.

L1 Ultramaximizer

Waves’ first-ever limiter, L1 quickly became a favorite among audio engineers, whether to control peaks, change the dynamics and character of musical instruments, or make louder masters that explode out of the speakers.

Transparent and punchy, L1 offers true peak limiting that eliminates inter-sample clipping. It maximizes both the level of the digital signal and the resolution of the final file. It offers superb re-quantization for all bit depths. Its look-ahead peak limiter enables you to increase sound file resolution and production master levels with precise control and dithering options.

MaxxBass

MaxxBass does the seemingly impossible: it gives a strong sensation of bass, even on the smallest speakers. Based on psychoacoustic research about how the ear perceives bass, MaxxBass generates harmonics that convince the ear it’s hearing deeper bass than what actually exists.

Add depth to music mixes, videos and film, or any other content. Give masters more low-end power without losing clarity. Overcome the limitations of small speakers in laptops, mobile phones, and small systems—or simply boost the low end for any system. MaxxBass is the proven solution.

MondoMod

Whether you’re a seasoned sound designer or exploring the furthest reaches of what effects can do, MondoMod re-casts the role of tremolo, vibrato, and panning. Spanning the range from sweet to insane, MondoMod ventures where other no other modulation effect has gone before.

From vibrato frequencies so high they can create lo-fi ring mod FX, to rotation-based panning that gives movement beyond stereo placement, MondoMod makes modulation surprising again.

PAZ Analyzer

The more you know about your audio, the better—and PAZ shows what you need to know. Improve mixes and masters by seeing frequency response, stereo field loudness spread, phase anomalies, and adjacent peak and RMS level meters (with four different weighting curves).

PAZ Analyzer is amazingly accurate, and a breeze to use. Load the full analyzer to see all graphic representations simultaneously, or load separate components—even save results as a text file.

Q10 Equalizer

As it celebrates 30 years of service to the pro audio industry, the reason for the Q10’s longevity is simple: it solves problems. The recent 25th anniversary update retains the transparency, versatility, and efficiency of this industry standard, but raises the bar yet again with significant improvements.

With an added proportional-Q curve, double-precision math, and a modern interface that shows all bands or focuses on one, the Q10 is primed for 30 more years of equalization excellence.
