Maximize Your Mix, Remix and Mastering Potential
Dave Aude’s Grammy-winning remixes turn hits into mega-hits—just ask Beyonce, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Madonna, Coldplay, Celine Dion, U2, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and so many others. Now, he’s sharing his choice of “secret weapon” plugins that have transformed mixing and mastering.
This flexible, hand-picked collection of processors and presets has only one goal: to give your mixes and masters the sheen, punch, and polish that have taken Dave Aude to the top of the charts.
C6 Multiband Compressor
C6 is ideal for serious audio surgery on individual tracks and masters. Its extreme flexibility comes from 4 configurable frequency bands—and 2 additional “floating” frequency bands—that let you apply per-band compression, expansion, upward expansion, limiting, and dynamic EQ.
This refined blend of dynamics processing and EQ is optimized to shape (or repair) any audio with a wide frequency range—masters, drums, synthesizers, heavy guitar, piano, and more.
Element 2.0 Virtual Analog Synth
Analog synthesizers are all about a warm, sweet, lustrous sound quality. They’re also about the experience: hands-on control, with a straightforward interface that invites quick tweaking.
With integrated effects, a 16-step sequencer, MIDI Learn for all controls, multipoint touch response, and a massive preset library, Element 2.0 captures the feel, not only the sound, of classic analog synthesizers.
H-Delay Hybrid Delay
H-Delay’s comprehensive control set delivers chorusing, flanging, echo, tape delay, looping, doubling, slapback, resonance, vibrato, self-oscillating feedback, and more. Best of all, it covers the sonic range from funky, old-school delays to today’s state-of-the-art sound quality.
With its accessible interface, straightforward controls, and a huge variety of presets, H-Delay can kick-start your creativity in seconds—it’s no wonder people call this their “desert island delay.”
L3 Multimaximizer
There’s a reason why the L3 Multimaximizer has been the choice of top mastering engineers for over a decade: It artfully merges five-band parametric equalization, linear-phase crossovers, transparent dynamics control, and bit-resolution conversion into an exemplary mastering chain.
Based on Waves’ proprietary Peak Limiting Mixer technology, this plugin’s deep level of control for dynamics and frequency response lets you take your master wherever you want it to go.
L3 Ultramaximizer
The L3 Ultramaximizer uses the same advanced five-band processing engine as the acclaimed L3 Multimaximizer, but distills its operation down to a streamlined, intuitive interface. There’s no better way to deliver high-quality, effective, transparent maximization when deadlines loom.
With linear-phase crossovers that prevent phase “smearing” or distortion, you’ll experience a pristine high end, defined bass, and a level of sonic quality that brings out the best in any master.
L3-LL Multimaximizer
The L3-LL Multimaximizer has the same 5-band dynamics engine as the L3 Multimaximizer, but cuts latency dramatically by using phase-compensated crossovers instead of linear-phase filtering. Now you can use maximization live or for tracking—with the same interface as the standard plugin.
Waves’ proprietary Peak Limiting Mixer, ARC automatic release control, and ability to set band priorities are key to delivering unparalleled maximization while retaining a smooth, musical quality.
L3-LL Ultramaximizer
This special version of the L3 Multimaximizer not only reduces the user interface to essentials, but substitutes phase-compensated crossovers for linear-phase types, to yield a dramatic reduction in latency. Now you can dial up your ideal maximization in seconds—whether for stage or studio.
Suitable for individual instruments, groups, or the final mix bus, the combination of Waves’ Peak Limiting Mixer and automatic release control give maximum level, with maximum sonic purity.
MV2
Dual high-level/low-level compressor
MV2 is no ordinary compressor—sure, it can compress audio above a threshold. But it can also compress low-level audio upward. Bring up a drum’s room sound, without compromising peaks. Or sharpen the focus on tracks that were mixed too low, without having to lower everything else.
With its problem-solving talents, novel functionality, and incredibly simple operation, the MV2 is one of those plugins that will make you wonder how you ever got along without it.
Trans-X
Trans-X gives you pinpoint control over the transient-heavy percussive sounds in your mix: Make drums softer, or punchier. Give your acoustic guitars more attack. Make electric bass smoother, or more aggressive. Harness transient shaping to move sounds forward or further back in the mix.
Trans-X can do all that on individual tracks—but its Multiband mode also splits audio into 4 separate bands, each with independent transient shaping. Even if you’re dealing with a stereo 2-track with no individual tracks or stems, you can still harden the kick while softening acoustic guitar strums; or tighten your bass while helping your percussion get more gentle.
Detect transients based on duration and level, then start shaping: Trans-X shapes transients like nothing else.
