Sonor Benny Greb 2.0 13"x5.75" Beech Snare Drum

10 years after the first extremely successful collaboration for a Signature Snare with the jack-of-all-trades and close #SONORfamily member Benny Greb, the Benny Snare is back and has even brought reinforcements. As Benny would say: it’s not just an update, it’s an upgrade. The existing 13 x 5.75“ Beech snare with outer veneer of Scandinavian Birch now comes with a Bubinga wood inlay and classy 1950s Vintage Teardrop Lugs. It also features the superior Dual Glide snare strainer. Not to forget the new dampening mechanism called the “MonoRail”, of which every drum has two, installed with Benny’s favorite dampening materials, called “The Felt”, and “The Sheep” – for maximum flexibility, from funky to big and fat sounds.

Beech Model

Benny's Beech Snare Drum features a 9-ply, 5mm German beechwood shell with 45° bearing edges and a Scandinavian Birch outer veneer.

Brass Model

Benny's Brass Snare Drum features a 1.2mm brass shell with a unique aged brass finish.

MonoRail Dampeners

Both drums are equiped with two MonoRail dampeners, one with "The Sheep" and the other with "The Felt" dampening pad for flexible, quick and repeatable dampening. Because the dampeners only slide up and down on a rail, they do not interfere with the playing-zone of the drum.

Decorative Inlay

The wood model includes a decorative bubinga wood inlay that reaches all araund the drum. The brass model features a laser etched stripe for a similar look.

Teardrop Lugs

Benny's new Signature Snares features the classic SONOR Teardrop Lugs including TuneSafe.

Dual Glide

Benny's Snares have been upgraded with SONOR's superior Dual Glide strainer for totally smooth action and unparalled adjustability.
