Module 1 : Introduction

The groundwork of the entire course is laid out.  Each module building on the last.

Module 2 : Arranging

In this module, we discover the popular forms of arrangements found in most songs.  From simple ABAB to more complex arrangement types, we also demonstrate emotional paths.

Module 3 : Drum Tracks

Your rhythm bed can be produced by step recording, real time input from a keyboard or pad controller.  Even loops or importing .mid files.  We go through them all.

Module 4 : Guitar Tracks

If using real guitars, we show you how to create realistic amp simulations in your DAW or even employ "re-amping".  If using MIDI guitar patches, we show you how to use proper voicing to achieve great results.

Module 5 : Keyboard Tracks

With many tracks originating from your MIDI controller, we show you techniques to lay down pianos, organs, bass and even orchestral parts.  Using chord helpers, arpeggiators and other MIDI effects, your keyboard tracks will come alive.

Module 6 : Vocal Tracks

The "stars" of your show are your vocal and harmonies.  In this module we'll dive into pitch and time correction and even a few must have vocal plug-ins and effect chains.

Module 7 : Toppers & Effects

Toppers are the accoutrements of your song that add a little interest or spice to your mix.  From one off samples to drops and filter sweeps, this module takes your music production to the next level.

Module 8 : Working with DAWs

As most of our music production is done in software called DAWs (digital audio workstations), it's crucial that we know all the features that are available.  David demonstrates in all the major DAWs.

Module 9 : Production Workflows

The most common production workflow is the linear timeline.  We also go over the loop workflow and the reference track workflow.  The reference track workflow is the single best way to elevate your musical productions.

Module 10 : Production Example (Pop)

In this module, we interview Giampaolo Pasquile, a top producer in Rome, Italy as he pulls apart the song "Drinking my Emotion".  An incredible "behind the scenes" look at how to produce a modern pop song.

Module 11 : Production Example (Country)

We then go to the Country capital of the world, Nashville, Tennessee to visit Corey Lawson as he pulls back the curtain on how you can achieve a "radio-ready" country song with all the tips and tricks that keep him in demand.

Module 12 : Graduation!

David finally wraps up the course in module 12.  Imagine the satisfaction you will feel getting to the end and finally mastering music production.
