• Handy Drums Jazz Standard does not require an engineering degree to use. An elaborate design of over 50 samplers and smart algorithms work behind the simple and logical user interface.

Multiple Dynamic Levels

• Each component was sampled at multiple dynamic levels to ensure the instrument’s fullest dynamic range comes through during playback. Handy Drums Jazz standard contains up to 12 dynamic levels.

Round Robin

• Up to 12 samples per dynamic level
• Every drum stroke played by a real drummer is ever so slightly different from the previous one, no matter how good the drummer is. This is part of what gives it that “human” feel and is why our ears can instantly hear the difference between a roll played by a real drummer and the same sample being triggered over again.
• To make our Jazz Standard sound more like a real jazz drummer, each drum and cymbal has been sampled numerous times at every dynamic level. No sample is repeated sequentially during playback, but a different one is triggered.

24bit Samples

• All Handy Drums are sampled in a 24bit wav format for the highest resolution and sound quality.

• To achieve larger-than-life yet completely natural-sounding drums, every step of the recording process is critical. Starting with drum selection, tuning, placement and much more, all drums were carefully treated before even a single note was sampled.
• Our Jazz Drums were captured using the highest-quality microphones, preamps, and converters to preserve every minute detail.

• Handy Drums Jazz Standard sounds like an actual drum kit being played right in front of you in a room instead of a bunch of individual components sounding in their own isolated spaces.

Mixer

• While Handy Drums come naturally levelled between components, you still have the option to tweak and automate individual drum components to suit your taste. More kick or snare. It’s a breeze.

Multiple Outputs

• Use your favourite reverb, equaliser, tape simulator, or any other FX plugin to further manipulate Handy Drums’ individual components. Each drum component can be output to any of the available eight stereo subgroups allowing independent processing.

Variable Hi-Hats

• An acoustic hi-hat is a complex instrument in its own right. One of the most awesome features of Handy Drums is the variable hi-hats. It utilises full range of sampled hats from tightly closed to closed, 25% open, 50% open, 75% open, and 100% open, for both tip and edge sounds.
• Despite these 12 types of articulations, 10 dynamic ranges, and numerous round robins, you can seamlessly switch from one to another using only TWO notes and a CC4 controller.
• Over 700 samples are contained in the variable Hi-hats alone.
• In addition to variable hats, standard open/close/foot hats are also included for better compatibility with GM drum loops. As a bonus, included is foot splash hi-hat articulation on B1.

Adjustable Cc4 Curve (Variable Hats Foot Controller)

• Handy Drums are a great companion to electronic drum kits. You can even adjust your hi-hat foot controller curve. The curve is particularly beneficial for drum modules that do not output the full value range from 1-127.

Bonus Percussion

• The Jazz Standard plugin comes with bonus percussion instruments and a dedicated mixer tab for more comprehensive compatibility with the rest of our Handy Drums range.

• Handclaps, fingersnaps, tambourine, cowbell, shaker, triangle, and metronome sounds.

Audition Buttons

• Click on the icons to quickly preview the sounds of the drum kit. They will play at random velocities so feel free to click away several times.

Resizable GUI

• No more squinting. Adjust the high-definition interface as large or as small as you want to suit your eyes best.

Perfect For Drum Replacement

• Sometimes the only way to rescue an otherwise great drum performance but perhaps not ideally sounding is to use drum replacement. This way you can quickly preserve the original feel but load a great sounding kit to taste in no time.
• Our sampled drum instrument is a great drum replacement contender. If your DAW can extract transients from an audio recording, it’s a simple task to create a MIDI track from it and rout it to Handy Drums instrument. Instant depth and presence.
• Alternatively, you can use a dedicated drum replacement tool such as appTrigga3.
