Product Description for the Vestax Typhoon

The Vestax Typhoon is an all-in-one bundle of digital DJ hardware and software, offering total control to mix, scratch, and play music as a DJ would right at your fingertips. The included software transforms your computer into a full-blown DJ system. Whether for the beginner or seasoned pros alike, plug Vestax Typhoon into your computer and you become a DJ.

The Vestax Typhoon comes with everything you need to start DJing with your personal computer and music collection. It comes bundled with Virtual DJ and lets you load up tracks, mix between decks, and play with filters and effects all without ever reaching for your laptop keyboard. The soundcard on board enables you to send your mix out to speakers and preview tracks in headphones before mixing them in. The only things keeping it in the beginner zone are the RCA outputs (not as loud as quarter inch or XLR), and the touch sensor discs which aren’t as responsive as the Vestax’s VCI series. But these setbacks seem well in line with the price point.

So far we've seen a great response to the Vestax Typhoon from our customers. It's been reported to be really easy to get set-up and started with. As laptop DJing becomes increasingly common, it seems impractical for new DJ's to buy turntables and a mixer just to mix MP3's. Don't get me wrong, if you want to play vinyl records also, or do a heavy amount of scratching you'll need turntables. I am a total DJ Newbie, and I have to say that everything about this unit is perfect for everyone from the beginner DJ\'ing his own house parties, or back yard BarBcues, to the seasoned Vet, who wants a quick lightweight unit to use as smaller gigs. Also contrary to the documentation, my unit is running on Windows 7 (64-bit) with a Core i3 processor. (Posted on 9/3/10)
