Numark steps up to bat yet again in the high end controller market and attempts to pick up where their NS7 left off. As alluded to in our previous rumor post the NS6 is on display at NAMM as seen above. On first look it seems like it may even be smaller then the NS7 which would be a nice bonus since the NS7 is impractical for some people to lug to the gig. You don’t get motorized decks in this case, but it looks like you do have many of the features you see on Pioneer’s DDJ-S1 with the addition of two channels. That makes this one of only two units that will open ITCH in four deck mode (the Xone:DX being the other). The responsiveness of the jog wheels is yet to be seen, and Numark doesn’t have quite as a good a reputation as Pioneer when in comes to digital decks, so it will be interesting to see how these two go head to head with these new controllers. We don’t see the laptop hiding design Pioneer employs here either but I wonder if that’s something stacking it on a few phonebooks might fix?
