Product Description for the Yorkville LS801P Powered Subwoofer (Formerly LS800P)
First choice in active subwoofers, the LS801P combines a cast-frame, neodymium-based 18-inch bass driver with a rear-loaded bass horn enclosure made from 15mm birch ply covered in rugged black carpeting (black Ultrathane painted version - LS801PB is also available). Now add 1,500 continuous Watts of onboard power featuring full-time "invisible" limiting. Result - a rugged, high-powered "earth mover." Balanced XLR inputs are included along with 1/4-inch TRS inputs which, at the push of a button, can handle either line-level or speaker-level signals (you can simply connect it to any full-range speaker for quick and easy setups). Connections also include both XLRM and 1/4" Output Link jacks for interconnecting up to 10 LS801P's in larger concert systems. An additional XLR 'Mono Blend Input' allows the LS801P to function in a stereo system by blending the balanced L & R signals from a stereo mixer and creating a single in-phase mono signal.
The control panel features a +/- 12dB Level pot for matching the LS801P's output with the rest of the system, a tunable 90 to 150Hz HF Roll off pot to let you match the LS801P to any full-range enclosure without an electronic crossover, a unique Shape control that modifies the bass response, a Line/Speaker Input Level button and LED's to indicate Power, Limit and Clip.
Hardware includes four steel inset handles, a steel top-mounted pole-stand adapter, a heavy-gauge curved steel grill and tilt-back wheels.

Handles are set in right spot making it easy for a speaker of this weight to be lifted, (by 2 people) and put in my truck.

comparison is not wrong at all.heard one of this subs that was playing in a gig outside & had to sell two cerwin vega earthquakes just to get one, which was well worth it!! jbl,qsc are not any close to this powered sub, if your short on cash, the guys @ pro audio star will give you the best deals online EVER!!! i'm planning to buy one more 18'' & then get two more ls2100 21's go figure.... i did a 2012 new years eve party with these subs and they sound great with no strain. got great reviews on my sound. real beefy and punchy, crystal clear. so far so good. i want to get 2 more if i can get them for a good price. i would recommend these subs to anyone. thanks proauidostar. For the money these have to be the best subs you can get. I heard a pair of JBL PRX618SXLF after I had purchased my Yorkville LS801P and I felt really good about my purchase. the JBL PRX618SXLF Sell for $1300 and don\'t compare. I deejayed a prom at the W Lakeshore Hotel in Chicago and management came to me 3 times to turn it down because of complaints from guest on the 27th floor. I was rocking the prom on the 32nd floor so I was even amazed by the power and sound that this produces. (Posted on 6/12/11)Rating
