Product Description for the Allen & Heath Xone DX

The Xone:DX is a controller and sound card that let's you control up to four decks in Serato ITCH. The cue and play buttons will feel right at home to any CDJ user, and the springy cue point buttons let you get busy on four assignable cue points per side. Not really a "scratch" style controller the jog wheels are there to let you scrub through tracks in preview and will nudge songs while they're playing. Looping and two banks of effects are also at your finger tips above these transport controls. It's cased in metal and feels like a real mixer rather then a plastic controller. The sound card gives you high quality XLR or quarter inch outputs, and the channels even give you an analogue through for external sources ( all audio is still processed and mixed through the computer though). All in all its a solid controller with real mixer feel that's pretty fun to play.

Our video for the Allen and Heath Xone DX is now live on the nets care of Winksound. Overall I had a lot of fun with the Xone DX. I was able to get mixing on four decks quickly and easily in ITCH, perhaps because I was already familiar with Serato Scratch. But the DX seems pretty well laid out for intuitive mixing and control of effects. Sound quality is excellent and the unit is built extremely well, especially for its light weight. There are enough inputs for just about whatever you need, and having a thru option is great in case your computer crashes and you need to reboot. The jog wheels were surprisingly not as small as they looked on the website, which made it easier to use. It also fits perfectly in a Mono 365 bag. This is definitely a high quality 4 deck controller and worth the price. (Posted on 1/5/11)

Rock solid Allen & Heath performance in a super portable package. For those Serato DJ\'s looking to be more mobile and have more fun with hot cue\'s and effects this is the device for you.
