Product Description for the Audix D6 Drum Mic
Provides huge kick drum sound with ground shaking low end while delivering exceptional clarity and attack. Designed, machined, assembled and tested by Audix in the USA, the D6 is a dynamic instrument microphone used for stage, studio and broadcast applications. The D6, which is characterized with a cardioid pickup pattern for isolation and feedback control, is equipped with a VLM™ (Very Low Mass) diaphragm for natural, accurate sound reproduction. The D6 is lightweight, compact and easy to position. With a wide frequency response of 30 Hz - 15 kHz and the ability to handle sound pressure levels in excess of 144 dB, the D6 is an excellent choice for miking instruments requiring extended low frequency reproduction such as kick drum, large toms, and bass cabinets.
Roadworthy construction includes a precision machined aluminum body, black anodized finish, laser etched model and serial number, steel mesh grill, Switchcraft® XLR connector and includes a tension-fit heavy duty nylon mic clip.

Perfect!!!
Review by Sammy -
I use to have the AKG kick drum mic. Fortunately for me ...someone stole it. I bought the Audix D6 over a year ago from you guys (at your direction) and I have never been happier. I play with a Gretsch 22" with double heads, no hole and only a dead ringer on the pedal side, no pillows or stuffing. I place this mic about 6" from the front head and slightly off center to the low right. It is so punchy!! Very little change in the EQ on the board and this mic makes me sound like I am the thunder rolling in from the sky! In fact...when we set up...someone in the band will always say..."it's time to bring the thunder". I am 50 years old and have played for the last 40 years of my life. I play old school classic rock and roll blues. It gets loud. Buy it now... YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! (Posted on 5/21/12)Rating

Best kick mic on the market
Review by Jared -
I own this mic, and have used both of its main competitors, the shure beta52 and the AKG D112, and I must say this is my favorite of the bunch. It has a ton of punch, and enough low end to really hit you in the chest. Buy it. You won\'t be dissapointed. (Posted on 2/8/11)Rating
