The Comscan LED effects lighting system from American DJ gives you two Comscan LED scanners, one easy-to-use UC3 controller, and one 10' XLR-male-to-XLR-female DMX cable.
Comscan LED scanners are compact, portable, high-performance, mobile DMX scanners with an advanced, high-performance LED source. It features DMX-512 protocol with 5 DMX channels and produces exciting, built-in lighting programs. It's three operational modes include: DMX controller, master/slave, and sound-active. In pan/tilt inversion mode, when you're using four scanners in master/slave mode, scanner 1 and 3 sync opposite to scanner 2 and 4.
American DJ Comscan LED scanners have 8 gobos/colors plus one spot; the gobos and colors are on the same wheel. The effects light features both a gobo shake effect, dimming effect, and strobe effect. Also featured is a 4-button menu system with an LED display, making it easy to navigate. A manual focusing lens, stepper motors with micro stepping, and an included hanging bracket plus a safety hook are just a few more of the American DJ Comscan LED scanners' appeals.
Very little maintenance is needed for these American DJ scanners, which can run all night, have no duty cycle, and stay cool throughout the entire evening with no cooling fan required.
The UC3 is a 3-switch controller with program, blackout, and strobe modes. It works well with the Comscan LED scanner and with most products containing a 1/4" input.

Excellent Value, Competes with Systems 3x the Price

I first spotted this light in a retail pro audio store and fell in love with the size of it: small, compact, perfect for mobile Dj'ing. I soon learned it was LED powered and immediately was SOLD!Rating
This light performs great! I used to own 250w halogen moving heads and have since upgraded to the Comscan LED system and won't look back. In comparison the LED optics are super crisp, colors a brilliant & vibrant, and the motor is much smoother than previous ADJ scanners. The only downside is the color/gobo wheel is combined, but guess what: no one in the audience is going to notice that. There are enough gobo.color combos to keep this light entertaining all night long.
Notes: UC3 controller is excellent for mobile use and semi-dmx control. The remote allows you to select a specific "show" pattern or all 12 scrolling through, select the color/gobo if you want it to remain on a single design, and strobe the lights in 3 different strobe patterns.
I originally bought my moving heads to create elaborate DMX shows and custom color programming for gigs...sad news is I don't have time (or the room in my house) to create such shows. The Comscan System allows me to use pre-programmed shows that beat what most DJs can design using DMX, but gives me the option in the future to program DMX if I find the time.
